SLAUGHTER NICK FOR PRESIDENT starts Friday, July 11

Slaughter Nick for President is the story of Rob Stewart, an unemployed Canadian actor who discovered he was a household name…in Serbia. His character, Nick Slaughter, from the defunct TV show “Tropical Heat,” was so popular there in the mid-1990s that he became a symbol of freedom and democracy to those protesting dictator Slobodan Milosevic. Stewart had no idea about his exalted status in a country halfway around the world until he stumbled across a Facebook fan page dedicated to Slaughter and “Tropical Heat.” Stewart decided to go, with a couple of filmmaker friends, to the Balkan state. But nothing could have prepared him for the reception he got.

We couldn’t make this up. We didn’t have to…it’s a true story. Yep, it’s a documentary, one that’s definitely worth your time.
