WINNING: THE RACING LIFE OF PAUL NEWMAN now showing

The world knows Paul Newman as an Academy-Award-winning actor with a 50+ year career as one of the most prolific and revered actors in American cinema. He was also famous for his philanthropy; Newman’s Own has given more than $430 million to charities around the world. Yet not as many people know about the gasoline-fueled passion that was so intense, it nearly sidelined his acting career.

Newman’s racing life spanned thirty-five years. As a driver, he won four Sports Car Club of America National Championships plus the 24 Hours of Daytona, took true second at Le Mans (winning his class), and won multiple professional Trans Am races. Newman also owned (with Carl Haas) Newman/Haas Racing, and together with drivers Mario Andretti, Michael Andretti, Sebastien Bourdais and others, they were one of the most prolific Indycar teams in history, winning 8 championships. Not bad for a guy who didn’t even get behind the wheel of a racecar until he was 48 years old.

This highly-anticipated look at another side of an icon includes interviews with Joanne Woodward, Robert Redford, Patrick Dempsey, Tom Cruise, and Robert Wagner, among others.
